A browser can't ask a mouse for its DPI, so this test measures it: drag along an object whose size is fixed by international standard (a bank card is 85.60 mm by ISO/IEC 7810), three passes, median plus spread. Accuracy bands are published from 100 runs on real hardware, and an alignment check solves for your placement error using two references of different lengths.
